At Leigh Development we provide strategic consultancy and advisory services for business and not-for-profit organisations, including kaupapa Māori and Whānau Ora organisations, and I am also an active governance professional within this space. I don’t just talk about it; I live and breathe the world of strategic balance and supporting change management within organisations, by focusing on the organisation changing for the good of all people rather than changing the people to fit the needs of the organisation.

As a business strategist and educator my mahi is underpinned by diversity, equity and inclusion, and this journey of cultural confidence helps me everyday to increase my cultural competency which is so important to the diversity and inclusion journey. Kaore he kore, as tangata Tiriti that is crucial to being a responsive treaty partner.

As a school board member, what I continue to learn via MANAvation supports me to do good governance and to support our kura in delivering on the new curriculum.

The whanaungatanga that being part of this rōpū provides, is not unlike a safety blanket . I feel safe in the knowledge that I can come and go as my whānau and mahi require. No matter how often I attend wānanga, or how long I am away, I always feel welcome and secure in asking any pātai or in making mistakes. The aroha and manaakitanga is consistent even when life means I am not. And that makes me both a life long learner and a better coach for my clients.
