BIO
Nō British Isles ōku tūpuna engari i tupu ake au i Amerika ki te tonga-mā-rawhiti

Ko Lyndele tōku ingoa
Ko wai ahau? Who am I?
He toihau tangata whai tika ahau. I serve as a Commissioner on the Human Rights Commission in Charlottesville, Virginia, and as Director of Diversity & Inclusion at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. As an educator, I teach undergraduate courses at Granite State College (“Sex, Gender, and Sexual Orientation” and “Race & Diversity in the U.S.”), and offer social justice training to businesses and organizations. My professional work is focused on supporting marginalized youth in STEM education and careers.
My community work is centered around social justice, mutual aid, and reparations. My work in the U.S. has been deeply impacted by the powerful mahi associated with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, especially in the area of culturally responsive education. I am grateful to the many tāngata rangatira who have generously shared their wisdom with me, and would welcome the opportunity to develop relationships with more kaiako and collaborators.
My work has also been profoundly impacted by the wisdom and treasure that is te reo and te ao Māori.
